With hands-on training, industry-relevant curriculum, and career-focused instruction, this program prepares you for success—both at the Pennsylvania State Board Exam and in the real world.

Crossover Barber Program

Already a licensed cosmetologist in Pennsylvania? Take your career to the next level with our Barber Crossover Program—a streamlined training track designed specifically for licensed professionals seeking dual licensure.

Licensed PA cosmetologists are eligible to receive 555 credit hours toward the 1,250-hour barbering requirement, allowing for an accelerated path to becoming a licensed barber.

695 clock hours
Day Program: Complete in as little as 5.5 months

This focused curriculum builds upon your existing cosmetology knowledge while delivering specialized barbering instruction in areas like straight razor shaving, men’s cutting techniques, shop safety, and state board preparation.

PROOF OF EDUCATION

Provide one of the following:

A verifiable high school diploma or GED
Proof of completion of state-recognized homeschooling
For foreign diplomas: Documentation verified by a recognized evaluation agency that can confirm both English translation and U.S. equivalency

Government-Issued Photo ID

Accepted forms include a driver’s license, state-issued ID, or passport.

Registration Fee

Be prepared to pay a non-refundable $95 registration fee at your scheduled enrollment appointment if accepted.

We offer multiple start dates throughout the year to accommodate your schedule and help you begin your journey into professional barbering. Choose from daytime or evening/weekend classes at our Pittsburgh or Monroeville campuses.

Students who submit falsified information may be denied admission or, if already enrolled, terminated from the program.
